What is the purpose of this trip and why should I take this trip?
- The purpose is to experience Nuestra Cabaña and Cuernavaca, Mexico first hand in community with Girl Scout staff and volunteers from Colorado, the Rocky Mountain region, and beyond.
- The hope is for GSCO staff and volunteers to become energized to plan future trips to Nuestra Cabaña with troops and groups of older girls.
- And throughout this experience, participants will grow relationships and expand our state-wide sisterhood while also expanding our global connections to grow our global sisterhood too.

What are the specific final costs?
- Staying at Ticalli hostel is approx $50/night (we’ll be there for 2 nights)
- All inclusive program registration fee at Nuestra Cabaña includes program, meals, field trips, accommodation (include bedding, linen, towels, safe drinking water); program fee is approx $28,000 MXN
- Extra fee for special diets (Gluten free, Vegan, etc).
- Nuestra Cabaña will not make refunds for accommodation, catering, guest services or programmes that are booked but not participated in or used.

Are there scholarships for travel?
- Yes, if you are a young adult 30 and under from Colorado you can apply for the Look Wider Scholarship
- The Look Wider International Travel Fund provides Colorado Girl Scouts with funding to fulfill their travel dreams while discovering the magic and power of the international sisterhood of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.Scholarships are awarded through a selection process of Girl Scouts ages 12 - 30 who fulfill the requirements, complete the application, and agree to share their experience upon their return. Typical awards are between $500 and $800.
- Adults can also ask friends and family for sponsorship. This will be discussed during planning meetings.

Will other guests be visiting Nuestra Cabaña while we are there?
- Yes!! There will be many opportunities to informally meet and mix with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts adults and girls from around the world.

Have the leaders been to Cuernavaca and Nuestra Cabaña before?
- Yes, both Sarah and Jen spent time at the World Center in February 2024. Sarah also spent an additional 4 weeks in Cuernavaca, Mexico.

If I can only go for a couple nights, can I still go?
- Everyone needs to arrive by the evening of December 5th to be part of the Global Training part of the trip at Ticalli in Mexico City.

Will Girl Scout staff and volunteers be helping with travel logistics?
- No.
- Everyone encourages participants who would like to to travel with buddies or small groups to self organize. It is up to the participants to self organize.
- Remember, you do need a current passport to visit Mexico.

Can I extend my stay at Nuestra Cabaña?
- Perhaps; this can be individually arranged with the World Center staff.

How will our group communicate while traveling to Cuernavaca?
- Everyone will need to set up a free whatsapp account on their smartphones and we will create a group text thread
- Whatsapp works with a wifi connection

Will there be wifi available?
- Most likely yes, in most places… yet it is possible that it is not reliable or consistent. We’re going to Mexico.
- Check with your cellular phone company and their international service to Mexico
